Scriptly — AI that writes your worksheets in your own handwriting

01

Capture your handwriting

Fill out the character chart with mouse, finger or stylus — about five minutes, saved forever.

What Scriptly does

Scriptly is an AI handwriting tool. You teach it your handwriting once by filling in a character chart — every letter, number and punctuation mark, drawn with a mouse, finger or stylus. It takes about five minutes. From then on, Scriptly can write anything in your own hand: upload a worksheet, homework sheet or PDF and it reads the questions, works out the answers, and writes them onto the blank lines so the finished page looks handwritten rather than typed.

How it works

  1. Capture your handwriting. Fill in the character chart in the My Handwriting tab. Write naturally — the small inconsistencies are what make it look real.
  2. Upload a document. Any photo, scan or PDF of a worksheet. Multi-page PDFs are handled a page at a time.
  3. Let the AI answer it. Scriptly finds each question and the blank space meant for its answer, then places handwritten text on the line.
  4. Adjust and export. Drag any answer to move it, double-click to edit the words, then export a single PDF or an editable Notability file.

What people use it for

  • Handwriting recreation — recreating your own handwriting digitally so anything you type comes out looking hand-written.
  • Turning handwriting into a font — the Fonts tab builds a real installable .ttf file from your captured letters.
  • Filling in worksheets and forms — printed blanks answered on the page instead of typed into a separate document.
  • Accessibility — writing by hand is painful or impossible for some people; this keeps the handwritten look without the strain.
  • Neat copies — rewriting messy notes in a tidier version of your own hand rather than an anonymous font.

Handwriting styles and languages

You can save several handwriting styles on one account and switch between them — a careful version and a rushed one, print and cursive, or different people sharing a device. Style controls cover pen colour, thickness, slant, letter spacing, connected cursive strokes, paper smudges, stray pen marks and hand fatigue, where letters sag and shrink over a long passage the way real writing does. Beyond English, Scriptly handles other alphabets including Hebrew, with right-to-left layout, final letter forms and nikkud.

Pricing

Capturing your handwriting and experimenting in the Playground are always free. Documents cost 50 tokens per page — the same rate for every subject and every answer length — and the free plan includes 500 tokens, roughly ten pages. Paid plans start at $3.99 a month, and token packs are available without a subscription for anyone who only needs Scriptly occasionally.

Common questions

Does it really look like my handwriting?

It is built from your actual letterforms, and each one is redrawn with slight variation every time so no two are identical — that variation is what stops it reading as a font. How close it looks depends on how carefully you fill in the chart.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Scriptly runs in any modern mobile browser, capture works with a finger or stylus, and it can be added to a phone home screen as an app.

Is my work private?

Your handwriting and account settings sync to your account. Uploaded documents and their images stay on the device you uploaded them from.

My Handwriting

Draw each character in its box. Write naturally — the messier and more “you”, the better. Right-click a box (or press ↺) to redo it. Everything saves automatically.

0 characters captured

Capture your signature once — insert it into any document with one click, full size, not letter-by-letter.

Blank workspaces (no lines) — write naturally, the way you actually would on paper: word spacing, how far apart your lines drift, where you pause. This is saved alongside your style as extra reference, separate from the individual letter boxes above.

Add lettering sheets for accented characters in other languages, so documents in that language can be answered in your handwriting too. Custom lettering sheets are a Max-plan beta feature.

"Use default handwriting" auto-generates a starter style for these characters so you don't have to draw every one yourself, based on real cursive letterforms for both accented Latin and Hebrew. Redraw any cell to personalize it.

Playground

Type below — every render is slightly different, just like real writing.

Projects

Every document you've saved, ready to reopen. Opening one restores its pages and every answer exactly where you left it.

Documents

Upload a worksheet image or a whole PDF. AI reads it, answers it, and writes it in your hand — cost depends on answer effort, shown next to Analyze. Tip: drag any answer to move it, use arrow keys for fine nudges, double-click to edit its text.

Works for any topic except math — social studies, English, science, history, and more.

Fonts BETA MAX

Turn your captured handwriting into a real, installable font file. A Max-plan beta feature.

How this actually works

This generates a real .ttf font file built from the letters you've drawn in My Handwriting. Important to know up front: iOS doesn't allow any app to change what the system keyboard displays when you type — no app can do that, including this one. What a font file can do is let apps that support custom fonts (Pages, Word, Notion, Notes' text styles, Google Docs, etc.) render text you select that font for in your handwriting.

1. Generate your font

Loading your captured letters…

2. Install it on iPhone

  1. Download the free AnyFont app from the App Store (a well-known, widely used third-party font installer — Apple has no built-in way to add your own font file).
  2. Open the .ttf you downloaded above with AnyFont (Share → AnyFont, or open it from the Files app).
  3. Follow AnyFont's prompt to install the font profile — you'll be asked to allow a profile in Settings once, same as installing any font.
  4. In apps that support custom fonts (Pages, Word, Google Docs, Notion, etc.), open the font picker and choose Scriptly Handwriting.

Only characters you've actually drawn will appear correctly — anything missing falls back to a blank or default glyph. The more of your chart you finish, the better the font looks.
